Nominations for Rotarian of the Year Award Are Now Being Accepted

As is our tradition, we are now inviting all Rotarians to nominate a fellow Rotarian to be recognized as Rotarian of the Year.  Please take a moment to think of a person that you feel personifies the ideals of our club.  Nominations require submission of a completed nomination form, which provides the criteria used to evaluate this important award.  The deadline to submit your nomination is Friday, March 2, 2018.

Please keep in mind that current Officers of the Club (Amanda Tietze, Michelle Mullaly, Mark Rojek, Suzette Matthews and Tom Clevenger), along with the past Award winners (PP Paul White, Dale Holwick, PP Mike Gregorek, PDG/PP Bob Pattison, PDG/PP Dave Ewing and PP Dan Matthews) are not eligible.  All nominations will be kept confidential and we ask that you do the same. The award winner will be announced at an upcoming Rotary meeting.

You may download the Nomination Form here or pick one up at our regular meeting.

Completed forms may be returned to the Canton Rotary office (116 Cleveland Ave. N.W., Suite 307, Canton, 44702), emailed to the office at info@cantonrotary.org, or brought to a Friday meeting and given to Vice President Mark Rojek.  Help us recognize those who have made our club the great club that it is!

PP SCOTT SANDROCK AWARDED WITH OUTSTANDING EAGLE SCOUT AWARD!
Congratulations to Past President Scott Sandrock for being recognized with the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) from the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA). Scott received the award on Sunday January 28, 2018, at the Buckeye Council Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner at the Pines Restaurant in Orrville.

The Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) was established during the BSA's 100th Anniversary in 2010 with the first recipient receiving the award a year later. The award was created to recognize notable Eagle Scouts who had either performed distinguished service at the local, state, or regional level or who were known nationally. Often, worthy candidates for the NOESA have inspired others through their actions and have devoted a lifetime to their profession, avocation, community, and beliefs, at great sacrifice to themselves and their families.

Scott earned his Eagle in 1969 with Troop 42 in Navarre, Ohio, and has been active in Boy Scouts his entire life. He has served both Buckeye Council (including as Council President) and District in numerous leadership roles. He has also served as a Cubmaster, Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Post Advisor. Scott has also volunteered in a variety of roles in support of Scouting on a national level, positions too numerous to mention here. (CLICK HERE TO READ SCOTT’S FULL BIO)

Scott has previously been awarded the Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, Vigil Honor, and numerous training awards.

Congratulations PP Scott on this prestigious Scouting award!
