NEW GOLF COURSE - SAME GREAT DAY OF CAMARADERIE AND FRIENDSHIP
On Friday, August 19, 2016, the Rotary Club of Canton will host its annual golf outing at The Sanctuary Golf Club located at 2017 Applegrove Street N.W., North Canton.  Each year the outing brings more than 75 golfers together from many local Rotary Clubs to participate in a friendly competition, leaving only one Rotary Club with bragging rights for the next year.  This is a great day to bring guests or prospective members to see what Rotary is all about and meet some of the great people that are involved with Rotary.

As in the past, the golf outing will take the place of our regularly-scheduled Friday meeting.  This means all Canton Rotarians are welcome to come for lunch, even if they are not planning to golf. The cost for your lunch would be $13.00. We will be enjoying Old Carolina Barbecue at noon.

After lunch, those golfing will join their foursomes and participate in a scramble-format golf tournament.  Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in the scramble and for the longest drive, closest to the hole, and longest putt.

There will also be a putting contest, with the winner taking a BMW home for the weekend, courtesy of Cain BMW.

Please follow this LINK for a printable copy of the golf outing sign-up flyer.

Beginning on Friday, July 8, 2016, the weekly meetings will now be held at Meyer's Lake Ballroom CALYPSO ROOM.  This is the middle room at the banquet facility.

"HAPPY BUCKS" PROVIDED BY PAST PRESIDENT JASON MCCOY
The Rotary office received the following "Happy Bucks" from Past President Jason McCoy ('73-'74).  PP Jason provided $5.00 to announce the following "Happy" news:
  • PP Jason reports his 93rd birthday is on July 5th;
  • He and his wife just celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on March 3rd;
  • In July, PP Jason will be celebrating his 51st year as a Canton Rotarian.
PP Jason is proud to reflect on past endeavors he accomplished during his years as a Rotarian.  PP Jason states the very first "Pancake Day" took place when he was President of the Club.  He is proud the Club welcomed 29 new members during his presidency (which is a record he thinks).

NEW MEMBER PROJECT
I am so grateful for the Rotary Club of Canton's support and also the financial support of fellow Rotarians in donating $1,200 to the worthy cause of our New Member Project.

Here is the proof at the finish line of the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon, 4/24/16 where I ran 26.2 Miles for the Rotary Club of Canton, Ohio New Member Smoke Alarm "Run, Run, Run-Raiser" Project

I am honored that I finished 5th in my age group (51-54 year old women).

This picture was taken at the finish line with my newly acquired Marathon medal in hand, and my #1 Supporter, Dan, at my side at Don Scott Field, Canton, Ohio.
