CHARACTER CHAMPIONS FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH, RAYNA PHELPS AND MALCOLM BROWN
Malcolm Brown, who is passionate about helping individuals who are less fortunate, is a true leader at McKinley Senior High School and an exemplary member of the senior class. Malcolm was a key factor in the development of McKinley's successful 'Men of Honor' program. Not only is Malcolm one of the student founders, but he has been a consistently reliable mentor to the elementary students. Through this program, he has shown himself to be a humble, bright, and responsible leader, of sound character.

Malcolm is a member of the National Honor Society, McKinley Student Council, Men of Honor, and the Speech and Debate Team.

Malcolm is one of the most mature and personable young men with whom the McKinley teachers and administrators have had the opportunity to work. A competitor in Original Oratory, he has the gift to take his thoughts and ideas and craft them into amazing orations.

Malcolm is definitely among McKINLEY'S BEST. We wish him the best as he travels this Fall to Wright State University to major in Business.

Rayna Phelps is an outstanding member of McKinley Senior High School’s Class of 2017.  Rayna has volunteered this school year in the AP Seminar class.  Rayna has given her time, talents, and proofreading skills to the sophomores in AP Seminar every day in order to assist them in the completion of AP Seminar and to prepare them for next year’s class, AP Research.  Rayna has been very quiet and low-key about her responsibilities; however, she has been an indispensable resource to the students in AP Seminar and to Mr. Halkias.

In addition, Rayna has been a member of Speech and Debate, the National Honor Society, Varsity Tennis, and is currently ranked first in the 2017 graduating class of McKinley Senior High School.

Rayna will be attending Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota this Fall and will continue her studies and her outstanding achievements in her future endeavors.  We wish Rayna continued success at Carleton.
