At our weekly meeting on December 2, 2016, Past President Dan Matthews (sponsor) introduced our newest member, Mark Shaffer, to the Rotary Club of Canton.

Mark Shaffer is a lifelong Stark County resident, born in Canton Township where he is now raising his own family of two sons with his wife, "Hather" (not Heather) in the same home in which he was raised.

Mark graduated "summa cum laude" from Walsh University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.  A graduate of the 19th Leadership Stark County Signature Program and the 2011 Government Leadership Academy class, Mark currently serves on the Board of Trustees for LSC.  Prior to that, Mark served on the YStark! Professional Development and CEO Luncheon Executive Committee.

A 21 year veteran at Charter Communications, aka Spectrum, Time Warner and Brighthouse, Mark currently serves as the North Canton site leader for residential data and voice support.

Mark is a dedicated family man who also enjoys bowling, golf, auto racing, video editing, and auto detailing.

He is active in Canton Township in the PTO within Canton Local Schools and he never misses a school board meeting.  Someday he hopes to run for township trustee.

A strong advocate for Stark County, Mark is interested in the type of volunteer opportunities that Rotary provides to improve the quality of life for those who live here.
