WEEKLY MEETING NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

At our weekly meeting on July 15, 2016, President Craig Young welcomed our members and guests to the meeting. President Craig asked the members to keep the following folks in their thoughts and prayers:  Rotarian Rick Sherer is recovering from shoulder surgery; and Rotarian Jan Baker's husband is recovering from quintuple bypass heart surgery.

 

President Craig also made a request for a Rotarian or someone any of us may know to become the host family for our incoming Youth Exchange Student.  This young man will be arriving in the month of August and we need to find him a residence to live during at least the first part of his stay ASAP.  

 

Past President John Werren gave the Invocation.

 

Club Secretary Suzette Matthews welcomed the following guests to the meeting: Derek Weist (guest of Tim Shetzer), Betty Frank, Ed Frank, Dianne Williams, Estella Williams, Mandi Snyder and Robert Roland (incoming new member) all guests of Suzette and Dan Matthews.

 

The "Happy Bucks" news was then provided by the following Rotarians: 

• Robert J Matthews - gave a buck for his new whistle.

• PP Rick Taylor – congrats to the new Club President and Trustees - said he was sorry he missed the meeting and installation last week and wanted to let us know that he is not giving $10 to blatantly advertise his business this week. Also, Rick recognized PP Virginia Neutzling for her letter to the editor in the Rep, supporting our police and first responders.

• Bruce's Schorsten - gave a buck to draw attention to the ESPY awards and the great presentations on the show. Best foot forward for the athletes, particularly in supporting cancer patients and the Jimmy V Foundation. When it repeats, Bruce suggests we watch it.

• Shawn Dougherty - recognized the love and support given to a North Canton High School young man (Zach Herrera) who is being taken off of life support.  Please keep Zach and his family in your prayers

• Jim Lockshin - gave a buck because he was happy to be back attending our meetings.
•  
• President Craig Young - recognized Jim Lockshin's return, as well as PP Paul White's casual and relaxed appearance (no suit and tie), which gives him hope for after his term.
•  
• Suzette Matthews - gave a buck in honor of guests, Ed & Betty Frank, Dianne Williams, Estella Williams, Mandi Snyder and Rob Roland.
