The Rotary Club of Massillon was established on February 1, 1917.  The first Club President was J.A. Carnes.  The Rotary Club of Massillon has had many signature projects or accomplishments over the many years.  They have had a long history of helping their community.  In the early years they worked with the crippled children in their area.

Not too long ago, they co-sponsored the establishment of the Sippo Park Walking Path.  In addition, they also established the "Paul David Memorial Clock" which is located in downtown Massillon which also recognizes other community leaders annually.

The Club just recently headed up a drive to Provide a Digital Movie Projector for the Lincoln Lion Theatre (a restored movie theatre in the heart of downtown Massillon).

They helped establish the Paul Brown Scholarship Fund which provides a 4-year college scholarship to a deserving Massillon High School student.

The Rotary Club of Alliance was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Massillon and was chartered on May 1, 1917.

Other noteworthy items in the history of the Rotary Club of Massillon include:  their efforts with the Literacy and Youth Programs, participation in the major Rotary Foundation Program with other clubs and districts in the world for PROJECT CAMBODIA.  This large project provides clean drinking water, sanitation, and a sustainable program of growing crops in the area of great need.  The club has been a long supporter of The Rotary Foundation and they have a number of Paul Harris Fellows and Sustaining Paul Harris Fellow in their membership.
