Coach Reardon is entering his first season at Canton McKinley High School after spending the last three years as a head coach in Colorado.  His 2014 Wheat Ridge team had a top-16 finish in Colorado’s 4A Classification.  He was also the head coach at Poudre High School for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.  His 2013 team won the Fort Collins City Championship.  Prior to moving to Colorado, he was the head coach at Youngstown Ursuline High School where his teams averaged nine wins per year during his tenure.  His teams also had a play-off record of 20-2 over five appearances.

The 2010 team was named Associated Press State Champions after finishing a perfect 10-0 in the regular season, and went on to win the school’s third consecutive OHSAA State Championship (only the sixth school to accomplish that feat in Ohio history).  The team also finished the season ranked nationally by several services.  Maxpreps.com ranked the Irish #44, Rivals.com had a ranking of #38, and Highschoolsports.net had the highest ranking of #18.  In addition, the team led all divisions in the state of Ohio with four players being selected to the Academic All-Ohio Football Team.

The 2009 edition of Ursuline Football won a second consecutive OHSAA D-V State Championship (the first Mahoning Valley team to do so).  The 2008 season saw the Irish go a perfect 15-0, win the final Steel Valley Conference Championship, the Associated Press State Championship, and win the OHSAA D-V State Championship.  The 2007 team finished 12-3, and was a state finalist in D-V.  The 2004 team won a share of the Steel Valley Conference Championship and was a regional semi-finalist.  Reardon finished his time at Ursuline ranked third in career wins (72) and first in career winning percentage (.712).  Coach Reardon helped to place 57 of his former players into college football programs over the nine seasons he has been a head coach.

Dan has been named the National Football Foundation Paul Brown NEO Coach of the Year three times (2008, 2009, and 2010), the Mahoning Valley Coaches Association Coach of the Year twice (2004 and 2010).  As a result of his success, he was named an assistant coach for the 2008 Big-33 All-Star Game, which pits the top 33 players in Ohio vs. the top 33 from Pennsylvania.  In addition, he was inducted into the Curbstone Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010.

Prior to arriving at Ursuline, Coach Reardon was an assistant football coach at Warren G. Harding High School for six seasons.  During those seasons the Raiders won four Steel Valley Conference Championships, qualified for the state play-offs three times, and were state finalists in 2002.  He also held the position of head track and field coach for three seasons, and was named Trumbull County Coach of the Year and MVCA Coach of the Year in two of those three seasons.  Under his guidance, the track team won the school’s first two Trumbull County Championships and their first Steel Valley Conference Championship.

Coach Reardon began his coaching career on the college level as a student manager at The Ohio State University from 1991-1994 where he was a part of the 1993 Big-Ten Championship Team.  He then served as a graduate assistant at Youngstown State University under Head Coach Jim Tressel from 1994-96, helping YSU to a 1-AA national championship in 1994.  Coach Reardon was then a part of the staff at Indiana University for the 1997 season, where he served as a graduate assistant under Head Coach Cam Cameron, Defensive Coordinator Jon Heacock, and Special Teams Coordinator John Harbaugh, the current head coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

Dan is a 1990 graduate of Canfield High School, a 1995 graduate of Youngstown State University, and earned a masters degree from Indiana University in 2001.  Dan and his wife, Amanda, have four children, Emma (15), Matthew (13), Patrick (5), and Grace (3).
