During the Canton Rotary meeting on Friday, December 1, 2017, PP Dan Matthews (sponsor) introduced his new member, John Kalogeras, to the Rotary Club of Canton.

PP Dan said the following about John: "Our newest member is actually a former member, having been first introduced in the late 1990's by our dear departed friend and Past President, Richard Farson. He was born in Canton, attended Jackson High School, and was a member of this club the first time for about five years.

In 2007, John founded TJK Catering, which he named after his father, Thomas John Kalogeras, as a tribute to his memory. John's mother, Rena, is a 55-year member of St. Haralambos Church.

Since 2008, TJK has catered events for the Canton Civic Center, Walsh University, the Patriot Ball, the WWE, Aerosmith, numerous NFL teams and owners, NBC Sports, ESPN, the NBA Charlotte Hornets, and NCAA teams, plus numerous weddings, and corporate and civic events throughout NE Ohio.

John and Kim, his bride of 22 years, are parents of daughter, Kimmy, 20, who is working toward her Bachelor's Degree in Business at Loyala Marymount in Los Angeles, after studying at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

John's wife, Kim, is a second generation CPA, and is the owner of Lytkowski & Associates in Cleveland. Kim also supports the TJK enterprise and helps out whenever she can. They both enjoy travelling to California to visit Kimmy.

John enjoys all sports, especially football. His newest passion in the last 10 years is running, serious RUNNING! Since 2011, John has completed 22 marathons and ultra marathons! He has especially enjoyed two new running places he's discovered: one near the Golden Gate Bridge and another along the Hudson River.

As important as family and food are to John, Kim, and Kimmy, they share another interest with equal passion: rescuing animals in need of a home. The Kalogeras's have rescued over 35 dogs, cats and birds since 2010 alone. So when you think of John just remember: family, food and furry friends!"
