Richard Jusseaume’67, sixth president of Walsh University, has led Walsh to unprecedented achievement over the past 14 years.  After having spent 17 years in corporate leadership at Graphic Enterprises, Inc., and 29 years in education, he has served a total of five decades at Walsh, including two terms as Dean of Students.
 
Richard Jusseaume became president of Walsh University in 2001.  Under his leadership and guidance, Walsh has experienced phenomenal growth in almost every facet of its operations including enrollment, academic programming, faculty and staff, financial resources and physical facilities. Full-time undergraduate enrollment has increased by more than 78% since 2002.  Fifteen buildings have been added to the campus along with the acquisition of the 36-acre Hoover Park directly across from the main campus. Walsh launched its first doctorate programs in physical therapy and nursing, an MAED program in Uganda and launched “the Rome Experience” which allows students to study in Rome, Italy. In addition, Jusseaume is currently spearheading We Believe the largest comprehensive campaign in the University’s 55 year history. 
 
In addition to his contributions at Walsh, President Jusseaume has generously given of his time by serving on numerous community and volunteer boards throughout Stark County.  In 2005, he was honored as the “Community Leader of the Year” from the North Canton Chamber of Commerce.  In 2009, he was named a “Stark County Mover & Shaker” by About Magazine’s Advisory Board.
 
He and his wife, Terie, reside in Canton. They have five grown children.
