This is my 8th year as a Rotarian and it has been a very interesting and fulfilling experience for me. I've met many new people and made friends with people who I would have never crossed paths with if I had not become a Rotarian. Lets review the year so far.  A great celebration was had by all for the 100th year of the Canton Rotary Club anniversary at The Historic Onesto Lofts. Many members helped put it all together and the club felt good about itself as did all in attendance.  Also instrumental in making this a wonderful evening were our office staff, Lauri and Barb.

Last Friday's golf outing was a tremendous success on an incredibly clear sunny day! Golf Committee Chairman Nick Perinni along with his committee members put it all together and filled the golf course with golfers as well as those who thought they were golfers. Everyone had a fabulous day and enjoyed the fraternity of the Rotary Club.  Another great Rotary fundraiser!

Upcoming on the docket is our new signature fundraiser "Oktoberfest".  Committee Chairs Craig Young, Michelle Mullally and David Beule as well as their committee members are hard at work pulling this event together. The organization of an event this size requires a lot of help.  Many sponsors have been lined up and many more are needed. The benefits of "Oktoberfest" are not only financial to further the club's charitable efforts, but working together as a club to make this fundraiser successful.

So what's my point....the Rotary Clubs' motto is "Service above Self".  Service can't be done without teamwork and this event is going to take a lot of teamwork.  Consider volunteering your time while you also enjoy a great evening at our "Oktoberfest".

My best regards,
