At our meeting on July 11, 2014, Past President Mike Gregorek, presented Rotarian Bill Liber with a Paul Harris Fellow.  The presentation of a PHF is the Rotary Foundation's way of thanking a person for a significant contribution to The Rotary Foundation.  This recognition is named after the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris.

PP Mike had this to say about Bill: "Bill is a Sr. Vice President at Stifel Nicolaus.  He has been a financial planner and consultant for over 45 years.  Previously he was with Butler-Wick for 39 years until that company was purchased "lock, stock and barrel" by Stifel Nicolaus six years ago.

Bill graduated from Marlington High School and earned a full football scholarship at Purdue University.  He played offensive and defensive end for the "boilermakers".  Bill competed in the 1967 Rose Bowl Game against Southern California.  Purdue won 14-13.  Purdue became Big 10 champions in 1967 and beat OSU at home 42-6.  Bill notes that 20 of Purdue's players were from Ohio that year.  Of course Ohio State became National Champions the following year in 1968.

Bill served our country as an officer in the US ARMY from 1969-1975 before going into financial planning.  He and Melinda will celebrate 35 years of marriage in December.  They have three children and Bill has two children from a previous marriage. Bill has five grandchildren and is expecting the sixth this August."
