At our weekly meeting on July 11, 2014, Past President Dan Fuline introduced returning member, Past President Virginia Neutzling, back as a member of the Rotary Club of Canton.

She was a member of the adjunct faculty of Stark State College for 17 years and volunteer director of The Hall of Fame Regional Senior Olympics for 14 years.  She also served as Executive Director of the Stark County Health Care Coalition and she was a Public Health Nurse and Health Educator for the Stark County Health Department.

She has been active in the community and served on many boards in the past and is currently serving on the board of trustees of the Austin Bailey Health & Wellness Foundation and is actively involved with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Wilderness Center.  Virginia was inducted into the YWCA's Stark County Women's Hall of Fame in 1996 and was recently instrumental in establishing a non-profit fund to benefit patients of Mercy Medical Center at St. Paul Square, an innovative primary health care facility in Canton's Northeast end.

As a former member of the Rotary Club of Canton with 19 years of perfect attendance, Virginia served as the first woman President and was an Assistant Governor in the District.   She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor of the Rotary Foundation and was a Sustaining Foundation member.  Virginia served on many Rotary committees and chaired all Avenues of Service. She was also the Club Administrator working in the Rotary Club of Canton office.  Virginia is a recipient of Rotary International's Four Avenues of Service Citation.  Virginia is currently retired and simply enjoying life.

Dan stated, "While serving as President of our club in 2005, I had the privilege of traveling with Virginia and Mercy Medical's outreach program to San Pedro, Dominican Republic.  While there we were able to assist our sister club in providing needed help for their local hospital.  The hospital had a multitude of needs such as lack of medical supplies and deteriorating generators. On this trip I observed Virginia truly exemplifying the values of Rotary.  I was very proud to be with her on this trip."
